Rogers named Main Street Volunteer of the Year

For 31 years, Main Street Iowa has annually presented awards honoring outstanding accomplishments, activities, and people that make a difference in Main Street districts across the state. Last Friday, the efforts of those who work day in and day out in downtown revitalization statewide were honored.

The Leadership Award recognizes inspirational leadership and volunteers who make significant contributions to local Main Street programs’.

Danielle Rogers, Community Marketing Manager for the City of Newton, was honored as Newton Main Street’s Volunteer of the Year. She has been with the organization since its inception in 2014, serving as board secretary. She stepped down in recent months to take on the roll as Community Marketing Manager for the City of Newton. She organized many of the organization’s important documents. Rogers was instrumental in making sure that the organization is up to date with new marketing ideas and the latest and greatest in technology.

“We wanted to give her this award as our way of saying thank you for all the time and effort she put into Newton Main Street. She will be missed from the board but we are excited to be able to work with her in this new role. And see our goal of marketing our community in a cohesive way flourish,” program director Graham Sullivan said.
